Medical Support - Finish Line

Day: Friday & Saturday

Start: 7:00 AM Friday

Finish: 6:30 PM Saturday

Report To: Zumbro River Bottoms Management Area – West Assembly (Start / finish and transition area for the start of each loop)

Description: Medial personnel to staff start/ finish line and be on-call for medial incidents at finish line or ready to be dispatched elsewhere on the course.

HAM Radio / Communications

Day: Friday – Saturday

Start: Friday 7:30 AM Finish: Saturday 6:30 PM

Report To: Ham Radio Coordinator Brendan Johnson

Description: Provide communications for race – a team will be stationed at each aid station.  Assignments / times will be provided and emailed to HAM Radio team by HAM Radio Coordinator

Equipment Crew - Main Supply

Day: Thursday

Start: Thurs 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Distribution)

Finish: Saturday 12:00 to 7:00 PM (Pickup)

Report To: Zumbro Bottoms Management Area West Assembly (Race Start / Finish) – Race Director

Description: Distribute supplies to each aid station on Thursday and pick up supplies when aid stations close on Saturday.

Responsibilities: Fill water jugs and load aid station supplies on Thursday and deliver to aid stations.  On Saturday pickup all aid stations and re-pack into truck / trailer.

Course Marking

Day: Wednesday 

Start: 8:00 AM

Report To: Zumbro River Bottoms Management Area West Assembly (Start / Finish Area)

Description: Mark the trail

Responsibilities: Need to be strong / athletic for this position.

Course Sweeping

Day: Saturday

Start: On-site and ready to sweep by 11:00 AM

Finish: As late as 6:00 PM

Report To: Zumbro River Bottoms West Assembly Area (Start / Finish) – Race Director

Description: Course Sweeping

Responsibilities: Follow last runner picking up flags, looking for runners in distress and enforce cutoffs (to be done by Sweeping Coordinator Matt L.)  Assignments and times to be made by Matt L.

100 Mile Packet Pickup & Cookout

Day: Thursday

Start: 3:00 PM

Finish: 8:00 PM

Report To: Race Director @ Zumbro River Bottoms West Assembly Area

Description: Packet pickup and the pre-race meal start at 4:00 PM and go until 7:00 PM.

Responsibilities: Helping to setup packet pickup. Help with packet pickup for the 100 mile race – getting runners their numbers, shirts, sweatshirts etc., answering questions etc and or helping with the Cookout – Help with tearing down and picking up packet pickup.

Aid Station - West Assembly Start / Finish Area

Important: Note that the aid station open and close times listed below are projections based on current course record times – you should  plan to arrive at least 1 hour before the listed open time to allow ample time to setup your aid station and be ready for the first runner.  That being said, it is best to arrive as early as possible as this is an art not a science – bring a book, enjoy the woods and wait for the first runner!

Report To: Start / Finish Aid Station to Aid Station Captain – Zumbro River Bottoms West Assembly Area

Description: Race Start Location / Mile 0, 16.7, 33.4, 50.1, 66.8, 83.5 and 100.2 / Finish – The West Assembly / Start Finish Aid Station serves as the start and finish of the race as well as an aid station on each loop.  It is 2.68 miles from the previous Aid Station – Bridge Aid Station / Aid Station #4 and 3.03 miles to the next aid station (Bridge Aid Station /Aid Station #1).  Aid station supplies will be dropped off in advance of your arrival –  There will be drop bags at this aid station.  There will be HAM Radio Operators at each aid station to handle race communications.  Crew / spectator access is allowed at this aid station.  Spectators may park in the parking lot / campground area but must not park / obstruct the runner entrance into or out of the campground area.  Please tear down and pack up aid station supplies before you leave for pickup by the Equipment Crew.

Description:  The Bridge / Aid Station 1 and 4 will be visited two times per loop by the runners.  Aid station supplies will be dropped off in advance of your arrival –  There will be drop bags at this aid station.  There will be HAM Radio Operators at each aid station to handle race communications.  Crew / spectator access is allowed at this aid station but nobody may park at the aid station – all volunteers, crew and spectators must park in the North Assembly Area less than 1/4 mile prior to the aid station on T-70 / Zumbro Bottoms Road per THIS MAP.  Please tear down and pack up aid station supplies before you leave for pickup by the Equipment Crew.

Aid Station - Sand Coulee / Aid Station 2 & 3

Day: Friday & Saturday

Open: 8:15 AM Friday (allow at least 15 minutes to walk into aid station from North Assembly Parking Lot)

Close: 3:00 PM Saturday

Report To: Sand Coulee Aid Station / Aid Station 2 and 3 to Aid Station Captain

Description:  The Sand Coulee Aid Station / Aid Station 2 and 3 will be visited two times per loop by the runners.  Aid station supplies will be dropped off in advance of your arrival –  There will be drop bags at this aid station.  There will be HAM Radio Operators at each aid station to handle race communications.  Crew / spectator access is allowed at this aid station but are required to park per THIS MAP and hike in per THIS MAP – all volunteers, crew and spectators must park in the North Assembly Area less than one quarter mile prior to aid station 1/4 on T-70 / Zumbro Bottoms Road – allow approximately 15 minutes to hike into the aid station.  Please tear down and pack up aid station supplies before you leave for pickup by the Equipment Crew.
